Open Sesame

Open Sesame Preschool is a unique ministry our congregation has funded and operated as a community outreach program since 1970. It is a highly-successful headstart program that provides stimulating learning opportunities for preschool children who have a variety of special needs.

The goal is to enhance each youngster’s development, preparation, and readiness for attending school. Additionally, a Parent Support Group provides opportunities for family members to learn additional parenting skills in a caring environment.nt. There is no charge to families whose children are enrolled in Open Sesame. Special needs children are referred by various community agencies, e.g. KidsAbility, Healthy Babies Healthy Children.

Transportation to and from the church is the responsibility of each family. (Open Sesame is recognized and licensed under Ontario’s Day Nurseries Act, Ministry of Children and Youth Services. The program receives modest subsidy support from the Regional Municipality of Waterloo.)
