Service Committee

Striving to live our mission as a caring and sharing Christian community, our congregation’s Service Committee constantly seeks and pursues ways Mount Zion  members can reach out with caring hearts and hands in service to others in our wider community.

As well as helping with dollars and volunteer hours, we also work to build awareness about service needs and programs. We have been involved in projects and activities ranging from the Lutheran Refugee Committee, Habitat for Humanity, Canadian Food for Children, House of  Friendship (Potato Blitz), and Waterloo Regional Food Bank drives, to “We Care Bags” for children (A Canadian Lutheran World Relief project), Mary’s Place, Out of the Cold programs, ROOF, and Supportive Housing of Waterloo. The list keeps changing – with the needs. Our committee is active, engaged, and always welcoming to more helping hands and ideas! You can reach us through Judi Harris.
