Our Wednesday Advent services continue on Dec 15 and Dec 22 at
7pm on Zoom. Dim your lights and perhaps light a candle or two
for our traditional Holden Evening Prayer.

Celebrations
Happy Birthday to Jake Stumper who with his wife Henriette, celebrated his 94th Birthday at the Mount Zion Café on Wednesday.
Another significant birthday was celebrated last week when Mrs. Esselyne Bell celebrated her 70th. Pastor Philip also celebrated his birthday Dec 4. He is 39 again!
Poinsettias Time
Poinsettias will be ordered again this year to enhance our chancel for Christmas services. If you would like to participate, there is a signup sheet at the church entrance or you can call Margaret at the church office (519-886-5820) or email her at mtzion@mzlc.ca. Needed are 2- 10 inch pots at $32.00 each and 30- 6 inch pots at $11.00 each. Deadline for signup is FRIDAY, DECEMBER 17.
All poinsettias can be picked up immediately after the Christmas Eve service.
Booster Shots are now available for 50+
There is the opportunity now for those over 50 plus to receive their third COVID vaccination. It must be 168 days (24 weeks) since your 2nd dose. You can phone into the region of Waterloo to speak with someone who can help to book an appointment. Call 519-514-1499 during daytime office hours or book online. For those who prefer help, please feel free to contact Christine and she will help you to get your third dose booked in.
November Finances
Results through November are positive however the reasons have been buoyed by Government Support & other one time benefits. Government support is finished, and rental income will not be at planned levels. With the usual generosity of Mount Zion members in December, we have an opportunity to finish the year with a further reduction in our deficit. Please give prayerful consideration as to how you will assist with an extra gift before year end. For the full report
The Mitten Tree
The Mitten Tree is up again and donations to decorate the tree is being accepted until December 19th. These items will then be delivered to the Anishnabeg Outreach Centre for distribution, to those in need, throughout the Kitchener-Waterloo, Guelph and Cambridge area. Christmas Breaks for Mount Zion Café and Food Ministry
The Mount Zion Café and the new Food Ministry is taking a Christmas break. We are planning to hold the first Mount Zion Cafes of the New Year in January on Wednesday the12th and January 26th. Please join us!
The Food Ministry will take up their pots and pans again on Thursday January 13.
In Our Prayers
Let us pray for George, Betty, Marjorie, Rosalie, James, Willie, Kerry, and Don and Jean and their daughter Tai and the family of Hilppa Pearson mourning her death. Let us also continue to pray for the health concerns all around the globe and that the spread of the new variant be stopped at the earliest.
Pastor Philip presided at the funeral of Hilppa Pearson, mother of Nina Schafrick, whose funeral was held at Erb and Good Funeral Home on Friday December 3. Let us hold the family in our prayers as they mourn Hilppa’s death.
