Join us for Mid Week Advent Vespers
Advent is that time of the year when we expectantly wait for and prepare ourselves to celebrate the coming of the long expected one a little over 2000 years ago and also to prepare ourselves for the return of Christ.
Mid-week Advent Vespers will be held
on Wednesday 16 and 23, 7pm, on Zoom.
As we normally do, we will use the Holden Evening Prayer. We will use the same link that is used for vespers. (see links below)
Light three candles to watch for Messiah: let the light banish darkness
Lift your heads and lift high the gateway for the King of Glory.
On Sunday, we will light the third advent candle. In some traditions the third candle might be pink or rose and represents Gaudette Sunday and the joy that the birth of Christ brought to the world.

Thank You to our Synod
Mount Zion learned this week, that Mount Zion qualified for three synod
grants that will assist our programming in the community.
Open Sesame will receive $7000, the Mount Zion Café will receive $1500 and a further $1750 to go towards expenses related to Live Streaming our services.
Thank you to all of you who wrote and applied for the grants. Thank you too, to our Synod.
Please Remember to Sign in when visiting the building
It is just a white binder in the entrance hall. It is easy to overlook and its easy not to bother to sign in when you visit. Please don't ignore the white binder.
This week we learned just how important that sign in information becomes when tyring to understand who was in the building. Please take the few seconds required to sign in every time you visit, even if it is twice in one day.
In Our Prayers
Let us continue to remember Margaret, David, Rosalie, Marjorie, Barb, Peter, George, Wilhelmina, and Betty in our prayers, for wholeness and relief. Let us also pray for Bill and Karen Gastmeier and their family as they mourn the death of Bill’s brother Andrew. Let us remember those without proper shelter and food during these days of Advent leading to Christmas. Pray for local, provincial and national governments as they work towards alleviating the situation. Remember all those organizations that work in helping these folks. Let us continue to pray for everyone impacted by the pandemic and pray that a vaccine would be available soon.
